Now that only action-takers are reading, let me tell you what I’m talking about here.
Whether you’re in sales or an entrepreneur, the core of what we do is this: Learn through trial and error how we can best present our products, thoughts, ideas, or concepts to optimize our success rates.
Boom. Simple.
But what happens when you’re just starting out, just changed careers, or just want to take your game to the next level? You’re looking at a 3, 5, 10 year-long slog while you grind your way to the top. That can be an incredibly daunting prospect to even the hardest workers among us, and this is where mentorship comes in.
You see, I don’t think any of us would disagree that in-depth teachings from an authority – somebody who has succeeded where you want to succeed – is going to help your chances of success go through the roof. That’s simple math.
Now, don’t get me wrong: everybody who joins the dealership will be told “Hey, welcome aboard. This is our process. Go read this book and sell a car.” That’s not quite what I mean.
I’m speaking about in-depth, one-on-one, personal attention from someone who has achieved a level of success that the one seeking that attention is currently only dreaming of.
I bring this to the forefront today because while I have been mentored in the past and was fortunate enough to connect with some immensely successful people in my industry – the cycle has come full circle, as I’m now a mentor to a number of sales representatives and business owners!
But I want to make something abundantly clear.
You don’t need me.
This isn’t about plugging an opportunity to work with me. It’s about putting the message out there so that the people that belong here hear the message and make moves.
All of my automotive sales professionals who are looking to be ridiculous six figure performers, looking to sell 20, 30, 40 cars a month, looking to build books of businesses filled with raving fan advocates that will liberate them from door traffic: let me drop a bomb here.
Whatever it is you’re doing, there is somebody who has already done the hardest work for you.
The most valuable thing you have is your time, and the fact that you can spend money to acquire that information and save that time is invaluable. Maybe I’m just wired differently, but to me, this is a no brainer!
So, if you are the kind of person who’s committed to improving, stop wasting time, cut the check, and find the right individual to show you how to get there the fastest. This is mandatory if you’re going to start creating incredible levels of success in your lives, careers, and business.
Start focusing on the returns that these investments are going to deliver, not the investment themselves.
And now: I have to go, because what I’m getting up to in my business with my new mentor has got me wide awake and working my tail off. Remember, folks: if you’re green, you’re growing, if you’re ripe, you’re rotting. NEVER stop learning. Open your mind, open your wallet, and find the person that’s going to make your business blow up. I can assure you, they’re out there!
